Crab Fritters

Crab fritters are fried and served with a garlic and horseradish dipping sauce. Super simple, yet elegant enough to serve to company!

Ingredient

    • ¾ cup light mayonnaise

    • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

    • 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish

    • 2 cloves garlic, peeled

    • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

    • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives

    • 2 cups oil for frying

    • 1 cup hush puppy mix

    • ½ cup milk

    • 1 egg

    • 1 pound cooked lump crabmeat

Direction

    1. In the container of a food processor, combine mayonnaise, mustard, horseradish, garlic, and lemon juice; process until well blended. Transfer to a bowl; stir in chives, cover, and refrigerate until ready to serve.

    2. Heat oil in a heavy saucepan or deep fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Stir together hush puppy mix, milk and egg until smooth; fold in crabmeat. Drop tablespoonfuls of batter into hot oil; fry until golden brown, 2 to 3 minutes, turning once if needed. Drain on paper towels. Serve fritters with garlic sauce.
